Marine Finance

Based in Edinburgh, our Marine Finance team provides inventive debt finance to corporate clients with clear strategic visions within their chosen sub-sectors. Our debt portfolios include clients operating in most sectors, including

  • Wet trades of crude oil and petroleum products transportation
  • All sub-segments of the dry bulk cargo trade
  • Container sector
  • LNG/LPG
  • Chemical carriers
  • Cruise
  • Vessels supporting the offshore oil and gas industry

Since 2003, we have broadened our expertise to include other maritime sectors such as shore-based logistics and box finance, whilst retaining our core discipline of lending to the ocean-going transportation sector.

We pride ourselves on possessing a keen understanding of market drivers with their consequential cycles, and on nurturing genuine relationships with both clients and partners.

Debt facilities are provided on either a bi-lateral or club basis, or within syndicates of international banks for larger deals. Some of our more innovative solutions involve combining junior debt tranches with traditional senior funding. Short lines of communication within the Bank provide the basis for quick response times in what is often a very dynamic market.
